Material translations of atmospheric encounter
Working across painting, sculpture and installation at the intersection of figuration and abstraction, the practice translates atmospheric residue, perceptual recall, spatial conditions and diffused emotional states into material form.
CURRENT & RECENT
MFA Research - Suspended Works
Suspended tissue and textile substrates — transparent to light, two-sided, charcoal, oil, sediment, oxides— investigating atmospheric sensory impressions recalled across varying time frames. Intra-active works: each side co-constituting the other. The audience moves through an installed space, reading both sides of an objects to receive the full work.

PRACTICE STATEMENT
"At the heart of my practice is the translation of atmospheric and spatial encounters into material form. Through layered works, I explore how impressions of place persist through memory, materiality and sensory recall."
Drawing upon sensory memory rather than direct representation, the work investigates how encounters with place are retained and materially translated through layering, accumulation, suspension. Recent research explores diffusion as a relational condition through which self, memory, emotion, history, culture, atmosphere and place remain continuously negotiated.
